The Great Potlatch Totem is one of the most prestigious of all Alaska Native art. It represents the power and wealth of the giving family.

Three Potlatch figures sit atop this totem, followed by Eagle, who holds a Potlatch figure on his chest. The lines carved on his hat show the family has given seven Potlatches. He is atop Frog who represents good fortune. Raven, who is known to have released the sun into the sky is shown twice.

The beaver figure is the cornerstone for this totem, representing one of the largest native families of S.E. Alaska.
