Manatee is a gentle and trusting creature, of the animal group Sirenia. Ancient legend connects Manatee with the "siren" Mermaid, guardian of the sea. Sea lettuce and grass float amongst the little Turtles and peering shyly beneath is the curious Octopus. Mighty Sea Horse swims with fish, looking for Dolphin. Half hidden is a leafy creature, sometimes known as Green Man. Manatees give birth only every two to five years. Pollution, loss of habitat, and boating accidents have placed them on the endangered list. Hopefully some day they will recover, and once again be guardians of the sea. Look for the Ladybug, she brings good luck and happiness to all connected to the earth.
